Nuke Nine’s Vagante features heroes with a bit more character. The heroes of the game have a stronger tie to their vagrant lifestyle than most stories delve into. Their wardrobes are worn, and they travel by caravan rather than on the backs of shining horses, adding some humanity to the classic hero’s story. Roguelike platformer Vagante is now on Kickstarter
In late 2013, Eugene, Kyle and Keo quit their jobs to found Nuke Nine and ever since, then they’ve been working full-time on Vagante, a platforming adventure game with RPG elements. They released a public alpha build last month, which now serves as a demo for a recently launched Kickstarter project. They are looking to secure $50,000 in order to complete development. (Read More)

When I last wrote about Vagante, I called it “Spelunky: The RPG”. Well done, past me! That’s a good way to describe the game – a procedurally-generated platformer with permadeath but also potions, item stats, hitpoints, etc. – and to do so in a way that will draw in the people who will like it.
